Last Saturday I went to watch the show hosted by the Japanese Akita Club of America (JACA).
The club has done an amazing turn-around in the span of two years. They've gained lots of beautiful dogs and lots of committed owners. There were many imports there, too.
Also very impressive is the JACA's success in getting United Kennel Club recognition. This is a huge accomplishment in light of the history of the Akita in the US and the mess that has occurred because people and their dogs in the US had drifted away from the country of origin's dogs.
